To successfully keep systems up while running all production jobs scheduled. Operates and monitors both AS400 and Mainframe systems and working closely with departments to resolve processing issues. Writes problem reports for jobs that have failed and forwards it to appropriate person to correct. Continuously operates, monitors, and controls a mainframe computer, AS400 and related peripheral equipment using established procedures. Runs production jobs according to the nightly production schedule and Data Entry sign off sheets. Answers phone and trouble shoots issues from departments. Works closely with JCL Analyst and programmers in resolving any system failures on AS400 and mainframe. Performs other tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Supervisor of Computer Operations.

Must be available to work "swing" shifts filling in for operators when they take vacation or personal time. Must be able to work 12.5 hour shifts from 7:00pm - 7:30am and 7:00am to 7:30pm when filling in for other operators. Normal working hours will be 6:00pm - 4:30am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday when not covering "swing" shift.
Requirements - Education
A minimum high school diploma or GED required. Experience using a PC or CRT and strong typing skills are required. Experience working on Mainframe and AS400 highly desirable but not required.
