Creates CDROM disks for validate galley, FTP&#8217;s Galley to BPA to determine Audit verification. Pulls proof of cash on audit test for ABC/BPA auditors.  Provides deduct and reclaim reports for auditors. Rates charts and sends letters to clients twice a year for audit issue<br />
and rate check. Prepares month end working reports. Pulls cash for agency tapes and files magazine control sheets and creates CDROM Disks. Conducts postal audits. Sends instructions to Operations for ABCD, SCF, and magazine distribution counts.  Verifies and ships to clients.</p>
<p><strong>Knowledge and Skill Requirements:</strong>  Requires a minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus some college or business experience helpful.  Prior experience working with  preadsheets on MS Excel required. Must have strong organizational skills and be a very detail minded<br />

Must have very strong 10 key skills and type a minimum of 35/wpm, plus 1year data entry experience is highly desirable. <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong>  Coordinates assigned accounting functions for the corporation, preparation of financial reports that consolidate the business activity of the company for the month, year to date, and year with comparisons to budget and prior year. Responsible for productivity improvements and automation in the accounting areas, particularly decisions and implementation of accounting and transactional systems.</p>
<p>Responsible for the financial integrity of the financial reports and transactional accounting, consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of accounting pronouncements and application to the business.  Responsible for developing the accounting staff.  Creates JD Edwards reporter writer based financial statements (P&#038;L, balance sheet, cash flow) using spreadsheet server, dream writer, world writer, etc. Assists with monthly closing process including preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules and related analysis. </p>
<p>Knowledge of accounting pronouncements and application to the business.   Responsible for variance analysis against Budget and Forecast, with a strong ability to influence on corrective action where actuals are varying from forecast. Awareness of variance trends and a strong ability to communicate tracking of financials in time for corrective action.  Prepares Excel based trend analysis spreadsheets and associated analysis. </p>
<p>Backup Fixed Asset Accounting Administrator. Maintains Lease schedules and prepares 10Q / 10K footnotes.</p>
<p>Responsible for researching sales tax issues; Backs up Controller. Capable of client interactions on financial issues. </p>
<p>Responsible for supervising invoice controls.  </p>
<p><strong>Education/Experience:</strong> CPA or its equivalent with a 4-year degree in Accounting. Significant accounting experience, including hands-on accounting experience of at least 5 to 10 years, supervisory experience of an accounting staff for at least 3 years, prefer big 4 audit experience. MBA preferred, Cost Accounting a plus and Acquisition Accounting a plus. JD Edwards and MAS 90 experience a plus. Sarbanes-Oxley Experience a plus. Must be extremely comfortable with GAAP accounting and controls.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access.  Proven track record of hands-on accounting experience in mid-size or large company where he/she can assist with and supervise all aspects of accounting.  Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </p>
